The Red Lion is a village pub at the heart of the community of the delightfully named village of Sparrows Green near Wadhurst. It is located in the midst of the East Sussex countryside, close to Bewl Water, popular for walking, cycling, watersports and fishing, and to the National Trust properties of Scotney Castle gardens and Rudyard Kipling's tranquil house, garden and mill, Batemans.
This is a friendly and award-winning little pub, with a cosy atmosphere, a real fire in winter, darts and pool for entertainment, and a great menu featuring all the pub-grub greats - traditional, rustic-style food at good prices.
There is also a courtyard area at the front with tables and seating, amid the beautiful floral displays of the hanging baskets which adorn the pub.
